VIVAI DEL SUD
Vivai del Sud was established in the 1950s in Rome, specializing in landscape gardening, and restoration of large historical parks, in addition to the design of bold Jardin d'hiver on terraces and attics in the historic centers of Italian and foreign cities. The new-found culture of the use of greenery became very popular and Vivai del Sud employed the best architects and designers who found great success operating nurseries of the south as well as all over Italy.
At the end of the 1960s, Vivai del Sud was active in design and the interior decoration and commissions for villas and hotels; from the architecture of gardens to the production of exclusive furniture distributed all over the world. Vivai del Sud specialized in design, promoting a cultured and sophisticated “Roman style”. During this period, Italian shelter, design, and fashion magazines from Casa Vogue to Gran Bazaar and Domus to L’Architettura, devoted articles and covers to the furniture produced by Vivai del Sud.
In 1970 the new Roman school was internationally recognized, with Vivai del Sud prevalent on the names of companies operating in the high-end fashion and luxury sectors.
