Pair of walnut and caned armchairs designed by Austrian architect Lajos Kozma, 1930's. The arm chairs are distinguished by a bold and strong outline of beautifully curved wood design with caned sides and back; the back with a central walnut vertical support. Upholstered in two parts; in a creamy/white textured cotton and wool blend.

Size: 30" back height x 26" wide x 30" deep x 17 1/2" seat height.

Lajos Kozma (3 June 1884- 26 November 1948), Hungary) was a Hungarian architect, interior and furniture designer and graphic artist. Kozma was one of the most influential Hungarian Modernist designers who organized the Budapest Workshop, a collective similar in Scope to the Wiener Werkstatte. He researched Folk Art extensively, joining the group "Young Ones". Its influence can be seen in his designs, as well as the colorful aesthetic of Art Deco.
